Seewer wird 3er In der MXGP Gesamtwertung beim MXGP of Great Britain Das Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team legte beim MXGP of Great Britain in Matterley Basin, England, einen beeindruckenden Start in seine MXGP-Titelkampagne 2022 hin. Jeremy Seewer erzielte zwei beeindruckende Ergebnisse, um zum ersten Mal in seiner Karriere beim MXGP Saisonauftakt, auf dem Podium zu stehen - er wurde Dritter in der Grand-Prix-Wertung. Die Eröffnungsrunde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft auf dem atemberaubenden Gelände von Matterley Basin, welches erst eine Woche zuvor von Stürmen heimgesucht wurde, bot eine technisch sehr anspruchsvolle Strecke. Zahlreiche sehr tiefe Spurrillen prägten die Strecke. Streckenlayout und die grosse Auswahl an Linien bot den Piloten diverse Überholmöglichkeiten.
ERSTES RENNEN: Seewer war fest entschlossen, sich beim Auftaktrennen gute Punkte zu sichern. Er zeigte einen unglaublichen Start und kam auf dem 2.Platz aus den ersten Kurven. Seewer, der für seinen schnellen und extravaganten Fahrstil bekannt ist, lieferte den Fans von Anfang an einen spannenden Kampf. Der Schweizer startete grossartig und griff Jorge Prado sofort an und konnte so in der zweiten Runde die Führung übernehmen. Der "91" Gelang es durch enormen Speed, 11 von 14 Runden im ersten Durchgang zu führen. Leider stürzte er in den Spurrillen. Trotz Sturz konnte er sich den 2.Platz sichern.
ZWEITES RENNEN: Die Sonne stand zu Beginn des letzten Rennens des Tages tief und warf trügerische Schatten auf die raue und ausgefahrene Strecke. Fehler waren leicht zu machen, und jeder Fehler erwies sich als kostspielig. Als das Gate zum letzten Mal beim britischen Grand Prix fiel, zeigte Seewer wieder eine blitzschnelle Reaktion und startete innerhalb der Top 3. Jeremy blieb bis zur Zielflagge konzentriert. Verlor jedoch eine Position an Gajser, konnte sich aber über solide Punkte für den 4.Platz freuen.

NÄCHSTER EVENT: Von Matterley Basin aus reist das Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team nach Mantova, Italien, zur zweiten Runde der FIM Motocross Weltmeisterschaft, die am 5. und 6. März stattfindet.
AFTER RACE TALK: "Es war ein wirklich positiver Tag. Ich habe die Saison noch nie so weit vorne begonnen. Ich stand noch nie zum Saisonauftakt auf dem Podium. Es zeigt, dass ich bereit bin. Ich habe das Rennen genossen. Die Strecke war schwierig, aber wirklich schön, und die Sonne stand sehr tief, so dass es ziemlich knifflig war. Ich bin sehr zu frieden, ausser mit dem Ausrutscher im ersten Rennen, als ich dachte, ich hätte den Sieg in der Tasche. Ich bin auf dem Podium, ich bin fit und ich bin mit allem und dem Team um mich herum zufrieden, also ist das alles positiv. Ich bin bereit für mehr."
What a season opener! Seewer finishes 3rd at MXGP of Great Britain
The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team got their 2022 MXGP title campaign off to an impressive start at the MXGP of Great Britain in Matterley Basin, Winchester, England. Jeremy Seewer posted two impressive results to start his season on the podium for the first time in his career – he was third in the Grand Prix classification.
The opening round of the FIM Motocross World Championship at the stunning Matterley Basin venue, battered by storms just one week prior, provided a very technically challenging track. The ruts were deep and plenty, while the bumps were big and square, leaving the riders with a vast selection of lines and places to pass.
RACE ONE: Seewer was determined to secure good points at the opening race.
He showed an incredible start to the season opener. He came out of the first corners in 2nd place.
Seewer, who is known for his fast and flamboyant riding style, gave fans an exciting battle from the start. The Swiss made a great start and quickly attacked Jorge Prado to take the lead on the second lap.
The "91" succeeded through enormous speed and talent to lead 11 of 14 rounds in the first round. Unfortunately he crashed in the ruts when his front wheel slipped. Despite the fall, he was able to secure 2nd place.
RACE TWO: The sun was low at the start of the last race of the day, casting deceptive shadows on the rough and rutted track. Mistakes were easy to make, and every mistake proved costly. When the gate dropped for the final time in the British Grand Prix, Seewer again showed lightning speed to start inside the top 3, and Jeremy stayed focused all the way to the checkered flag. However, lost a position to Gajser, but could enjoy solid points for 4th place.
STANDINGS: Seewer is in 3rd place in the MXGP overall standings
NEXT EVENT: From Matterley Basin, the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team will travel to Mantova, Italy, for the second round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, which will take place on March 5-6.
AFTER RACE TALK:
"It was a really positive day. I've never started the season so far ahead. I've never been on the podium to start the season. This is that pretty good. It shows that I'm ready. I enjoyed the race. The track was difficult but really nice, and the sun was very low so it was quite tricky. I'm very happy, except in the first race when I thought I had the win in the bag, but I lost the lead when I crashed in a rut and had no chance to avoid the fall. I'm on the podium, I'm fit and I'm happy with everything and the team around me, so that's all positive. I'm ready for more."
