MXGP of Spain: Gesamt-Fünfter an schwierigem Wochenende
Bei der MXGP-Action in Spanien am vergangenen Wochenende haben sich die Hoffnungen auf eine Top3-Platzierung für Jeremy Seewer nicht erfüllt. Das Resultat ist mit dem fünften Gesamtrang aber dennoch keine allzu grosse Enttäuschung – nicht zuletzt im Wissen, dass es erst das zweite Rennen mit neuer Teamstruktur und neuem Material war.
MXGP of Spain – Es war die zweite Runde der laufenden MXGP-Saison: Das Rennwochenende im spanischen Arroyomolinos, in der Nähe von Madrid. Jeremy Seewer bewegte sich vom ersten Training an konstant in den Top6-Rängen, bereit, um weiter auf das Top3-Ziel des Rennwochenendes hinzuarbeiten. Das Material gab jedoch noch nicht die Performance her, die sich der Zürcher gewünscht hätte – schlussendlich reichte es für einen 7. Platz im ersten und einen 6. Platz im zweiten Rennen. Als damit Gesamt-Fünfter ist für Jeremy das Podiums-Ziel zwar nicht erreicht, nach rückblickender Analyse kann er sich mit dem Resultat aber dennoch anfreunden:
«Wir sind in die Top5 gefahren, was grundsätzlich ein gutes Resultat ist, wenn man bedenkt, dass es erst unser zweites Rennen in der neuen Konstellation war. Ich habe mir zwar höhere Ziele gesetzt, denn ich möchte um Podestplätze und Siege fahren – muss mich an dieser Stelle aber vielleicht auch einfach etwas in Geduld üben und uns noch etwas Zeit geben, um das Potenzial des Materials besser zu nutzen. Das Team hat super gearbeitet und wir sind auf einem guten Weg. Diese Arbeit müssen wir nun fortsetzen, um baldmöglichst wieder da anzukommen, wo wir sein möchten: An der Spitze.»
Das nächste Rennweekend der MXGP findet am 06/07. April in Riola (Sardinien) statt.
At the MXGP action in Spain last weekend, Jeremy Seewer's hopes of a top 3 finish were not fully realised. However, the result of fifth place overall is not too much of a disappointment - not least in the knowledge that it was only the second race with a new team structure and new material.
MXGP of Spain – It was the second round of the current MXGP season: the race weekend in Arroyomolinos, Spain, near Madrid. Jeremy Seewer was consistently in the top 6 from the first practice session, ready to continue working towards the top 3 target for the race weekend. However, the material did not yet deliver the performance that the Zurich rider would have liked - in the end it was enough for a 7th place in the first race and a 6th place in the second. Although Jeremy's goal of finishing fifth overall was not achieved, he can still be happy with the result after retrospective analysis:
"We finished in the top 5, which is basically a good result considering that it was only our second race in the new constellation. I have set myself higher goals, because I want to compete for podiums and victories - but perhaps I just need to be patient at this point and give ourselves a little more time to better utilise the potential of the material. The team has done a great job and we are on the right track. We now have to continue this work in order to get back to where we want to be as soon as possible: At the top."
The next MXGP race weekend will take place on April 6th & 7th in Riola (Sardegna).
