RACE REPORT - MX of Nations France, Ernée
Die 76. Auflage des MX of Nations in Frankreich war ein Ereignis, das in Erinnerung bleiben wird. Es zeigte sich eine grandiose Atmosphäre mit 102.000 begeisterten Fans, welche das Wochenende zu einem spektakulären Abschluss der Saison 2023 machte.
Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod und Arnaud Tonus bildeten das schweizer Team für das MX of Nations in diesem Jahr.
Jeremy ging in der Klasse MXGP an den Start, Valentin in der Kategorie Open und Arnaud in der Kategorie MX2.
Das Wochenende in Ernée zeigte sich von seiner schönsten Seite, grandioses Wetter und motivierte Fans brachten eine grandiose Stimmung zum Saisonabschluss. Das Wochenende startete hervorragend für Seewer, im Qualifying Rennen am Samstag befand er sich auf der 3. Position.
ERSTES RENNEN:
Motiviert und voller Tatendrang startete das Schweizer Team in den Sonntag.
Zum Auftakt des Tages setze sich das erste Rennen aus den Kategorien MXGP und MX2 zusammen. Seewer kam ausgezeichnet aus dem Gatter und befand sich auf der 3.Position nach der ersten Kurve. In Runde Sieben musste er eine Position an Roczen abgeben, holte sich diesen jedoch zwei Runden später wieder zurück. In der Hälfte des Rennens unterlief der Nr. «25» einen Fehler und er verlor zwei Plätze, somit befand Jeremy sich auf der 5.Position. In der letzten Runde gelang ihm das Überholmanöver an Plessinger und überquerte die Ziellinie auf der Vierten Position.
Tonus mit seiner 250 startete das Rennen im Mittelfeld auf Position 17.
Er zeigte ein souveränes Rennen, doch leider stürzte er und überquerte die Ziellinie auf der 27.Position.
Zweites Rennen: Für Rennen Nr.2 bestand das Team aus Guillod (Open) und Tonus (MX2)
Valentin holte den Holeshot, stürzte leider in der ersten Runde. Er kämpfte für ein gutes Resultat trotz Sturz und sicherte sich zum Ende des Rennens den 6.Platz.
Arnaud hatte etwas Pech beim Start und befand sich auf Position 25. Er konnte einige Plätze gutmachen, stürzte dann leider in der letzten Runde und beendete das Rennen auf Position 24.
Drittes Rennen:
Das letzte Rennen des MX of Nations setzte sich dann aus Seewer und Guillod zusammen in den Kategorien MXGP und MX Open.
Jeremy kam auf Platz 7. Aus der ersten Kurve. Das Niveau war sehr hoch und die Piloten lagen sehr nahe beieinander, dazukam, dass es sehr schwierig war auf der engen Strecke zu überholen. Seewer gelang es einen Platz gut zu machen und überquerte die Ziellinie auf Platz 6.
Valentin befand sich nach dem Start im Mittelfeld, es gelang ihm einige Plätze gut zu machen. Leider verlor er diese gegen Ende des Rennens wieder und kam auf Position 15 ins Ziel.
PLATZIERUNG:
Die Schweizer Truppe sicherte sich den 6.Gesamtrang. Mit 55 Punkte war die Schweiz zwar Punktegleich mit Belgien, welche den 5.Platz belegten. Da die Belgier jedoch im letzten Rennen weiter vorne lagen, kam dies ihnen in der Gesamtwertung zugute.

The 76th edition of the MX of Nations in France was an event that will be remembered. It showed a magnificent atmosphere with 102,000 enthusiastic fans, which made the weekend a spectacular conclusion to the 2023 season.
Jeremy Seewer, Valentin Guillod and Arnaud Tonus formed the Swiss team for the MX of Nations this year.
Jeremy competed in the MXGP class, Valentin in the Open category and Arnaud in the MX2 category.
The weekend in Ernée showed its best side, great weather and motivated fans brought a great atmosphere to the end of the season.
The weekend started excellent for Seewer, in the qualifying race on Saturday he was on the 3rd position.
FIRST RACE:
Motivated and full of energy, the Swiss team started into Sunday.
To start the day, the first race was composed of the categories MXGP and MX2. Seewer came out of the gate excellent and was on the 3rd position after the first turn. On lap seven he had to give up one position to Roczen, but regained it two laps later. Halfway through the race, the number "25" made a mistake and lost two places, leaving Jeremy in 5th position. In the last lap he managed to overtake Plessinger and crossed the finish line in fourth position.
Tonus with his 250 started the race in the midfield on position 17.
He showed a confident race, but unfortunately he crashed and crossed the finish line in 27th position.
Second Race:
For race no.2 the team consisted of Guillod (Open) and Tonus (MX2).
Valentin took the holeshot, but unfortunately crashed in the first lap. He fought for a good result despite the crash and secured 6th place at the end of the race.
Arnaud had some bad luck at the start and was on position 25. He could make up some places, then unfortunately crashed in the last lap and finished the race on position 24.
Third Race:
The last race of the MX of Nations then consisted of Seewer and Guillod in the MXGP and MX Open categories.
Jeremy came out of the first corner in 7th place. The level was very high and the pilots were very close to each other, in addition it was very difficult to overtake on the narrow track. Seewer managed to make up one place and crossed the finish line in 6th place.

Valentin was in the midfield after the start, he managed to make up some places. Unfortunately he lost them again towards the end of the race and finished in 15th position.
PLACING:
The Swiss squad secured 6th place overall. With 55 points, Switzerland was equal in points with Belgium, who finished in 5th place. However, since the Belgians were further ahead in the last race, this benefited them in the overall standings.
