RACE REPORT - MXGP OF FRANCE, ERNEE
Sensationeller Grand-Prix-Sieg für Seewer in Frankreich!
Jeremy Seewer Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Pilot stürmte beim MXGP of France, der 10. Runde der FIM Motocross Weltmeisterschaft in Ernee, zu einem klaren Grand Prix Sieg.
Der Schweizer zeigte in beiden Rennen eine sensationelle Leistung und sicherte sich den Gesamtsieg.
Mit Team-Kollegen Coldenhoff erzielten sie einen doppelten Podiumsplatz für Yamaha.
ERSTES RENNEN: Die FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft kehrte zum ersten Mal seit 2017 nach Ernee, Frankreich, zurück und wurde von 39.000 lauten und begeisterten Fans empfangen.
Starker Regenfall gestaltete das Qualifying-Rennen als sehr tückisch und gefährlich. Da sich die Strecke in einem sehr schlechten Zustand befand, entschieden sich einige MXGP-Piloten dazu, bei diesem nicht an den Start zu gehen. Doch nach dem regnerischen Tag am Samstag, legte sich das schlechte Wetter über Nacht und hinterließ die Old-School-Strecke in einem guten Zustand für den bevorstehenden Grand Prix.
Seewer zeigte in Rennen 1 eine unglaubliche Rückkehr zu seiner Form und sein wahres Potenzial. Die Nr. "91" startete hinter seinem engsten Rivalen in der Meisterschaft, Jorge Prado, und überholte ihn zwei Runden vor Schluss mit einem atemberaubenden Manöver, das ihm den ersten Sieg im Jahr 2022 einbrachte.
ZWEITES RENNEN:
Nach einem schnellen und hektischen Start in das zweite und letzte Rennen des Tages lagen alle drei Yamaha Factory Piloten am Ende der ersten Runde unter den ersten fünf. Coldenhoff und Seewer kämpften mit Prado um die Führung. In der letzten Runden vor Schluss lieferte Seewer einen spannenden Kampf um Platz 2.
STANDINGS:
Seewer liegt in der MXGP-Gesamtwertung auf Platz 3, 26 Punkte hinter dem zweitplatzierten und Teamkollegen Renaux. Yamaha ist nun Zweiter in der Herstellerwertung und liegt nur noch 2 Punkte hinter der Führung.
NÄCHSTER EVENT:
Die nächste Runde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft findet am kommenden Wochenende, dem 11. und 12. Juni, in Teutschenthal, Deutschland, statt.
AFTER RACE TALK:
"Ich fühle mich super! Irgendwann hatte ich das Gefühl, dass ich 1:1 hätte führen können, denn das wäre fantastisch gewesen. Ich hatte den Speed, aber dann, zwei Runden vor Schluss, dachte ich, es wäre dumm, den GP-Sieg wegzuwerfen. Ich habe es wirklich genossen; wir haben endlich das kleine Extra gefunden, das wir brauchten um ganz vorne zu sein. Ich habe es schon am Samstag gespürt, ich habe es kommen sehen. Ich konnte hier schnell fahren, sehr schnell und selbstbewusst, und ich war froh, dass ich das zeigen konnte. Jetzt hoffe ich, dass ich so weiterfahren kann."
Sensational Grand Prix victory for Seewer in France!
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP's Jeremy Seewer stormed to an outright Grand Prix victory at the MXGP of France, the 10th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Ernee. The Swiss rider showed a sensational performance in both races and secured the overall victory with 1st place.
With teammate Coldenhoff they achieved a double podium finish for Yamaha.
RACE ONE:
The FIM Motocross World Championship returned to Ernee, France for the first time since 2017 and was welcomed by 39,000 loud and enthusiastic fans.
Heavy rainfall made the qualifying race very treacherous and dangerous. With the track in very poor condition, some MXGP riders decided not to compete in this one. But after the rainy day on Saturday, the bad weather subsided overnight, leaving the old-school track in good condition for the upcoming Grand Prix.
Seewer showed an incredible return to form and his true potential in Race 1. The No. "91er" started behind his closest rival in the championship, Jorge Prado, and overtook him with two laps to go in a stunning maneuver that earned him his first win of 2022.
RACE TWO:
After a fast and hectic start to the second and final race of the day, all three Yamaha Factory riders were in the top five at the end of the first lap. Coldenhoff and Seewer battled with Prado for the lead.

STANDINGS:
Seewer is in 3rd place in the overall MXGP standings, 26 points behind second-placed teammate Renaux. Yamaha is now second in the manufacturers' standings, just 2 points behind the lead.

The next round of the FIM Motocross World Championship will take place next weekend, June 11 and 12, in Teutschenthal, Germany.
AFTER RACE TALK:
"I feel great! At one point I felt like I could have led 1:1, because that would have been fantastic. I had the speed, but then with two laps to go I thought it would be stupid to throw away the GP win. I really loved it; we finally found that little extra we needed to be at the front. I felt it yesterday, I saw it coming. I was able to go fast here, very fast and confident, and I was happy to show that. Now I hope I can keep driving like this."
