Race Report - MXGP of Spain, Intu Xanadu-Arroyomolinos
Seewer wird 7-ter beim MXGP in Spanien
Die 13. Runde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft in Madrid, Spanien, war eine Herausforderung für das Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team. Jeremy Seewer war der Schnellste des Trios auf der ruppigen und ausgefahrenen Strecke, Intu Xanadu-Arroyomolinos. Er wurde Siebter.
Der Grand Prix von Spanien hat für Seewer sensationell begonnen. Mit der fünftschnellsten Zeit im Zeittraining sicherte sich Seewer einen tollen Startplatz.
ERSTES RENNEN: Seewer erwischte einen starken Start in Rennen 1, wurde aber in der ersten Runde auf den sechsten Platz zurückgedrängt. Die "91" fuhr solide und legte im 3.Sector sogar Bestzeit vor. Es gelang ihm seinen Teamkollegen Coldenhoff zu überholen und auf den 4. Platz vorzufahren.
Seewer wurde dann von Herlings verfolgt, dabei verteidigte er seinen Platz eindrucksvoll! Leider passierte ihm einen kleinen Fehler bei der Kurvenausfahrt, dies konnte Herlings zu seinem Vorteil nutzen und verdrängte Seewer auf den 5.Platz. Diese Platzierung konnte er bis zum Schluss des 18-Runden-Rennens beibehalten.
ZWEITES RENNEN: Die Stimmung der Fans war auch zum Auftakt des 2. Rennen genial. Seewer erwischte einen guten Start in das letzte Rennen des Wochenendes. Leider wurde er rasch auf den 8. Platz zurück gedrängt.
Er schaffte es einen Platz gut zu machen, welchen er dann bedauerlicherweise wieder an Febvre verlor. Seewer fühlte sich ausserhalb seiner Komfortzone, es gelang ihm dennoch eine Top 10 Platzierung einzufahren, er verteidigte seine 8.Position bis zum überqueren der Ziellinie.
PLATZIERUNG: Seewer belegt in der Jahresmeisterschaft weiterhin den 6. Platz mit 373 Punkten.
NÄCHSTER EVENT: Das Team konzentriert sich nun auf die nächsten drei Läufe der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft, die am Sonntag, 24. Oktober, Mittwoch, 27. Oktober, und Sonntag, 31. Oktober, in Pietramurata, Italien, stattfinden werden.
AFTER RACE TALK: "Die Dinge verbessern sich definitiv für mich. Letztes Jahr hatte ich hier in Spanien auf dieser Strecke Probleme. Ich habe also das Gefühl, dass wir uns in Bezug auf mein Fahrverhalten und mein Gefühl für die Strecke stark verbessert haben. Dennoch hatte ich mir mehr erhofft, denn ich fühlte mich gut und hatte einen guten Speed und eine gute Zeit im Zeittraining. An den ersten beiden Kurven muss ich noch etwas arbeiten, denn ich habe gute Starts, aber es scheint, dass ich einfach zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort bin. Wenn ich als Zweiter in die erste Kurve einbiege, lande ich im Chaos vor der zweiten Kurve irgendwie auf dem sechsten Platz. Danach geht es schnell aufwärts, aber wenn man wie ich nicht in Topform ist, ist es wirklich schwer, wieder nach vorne zu kommen, weil das Rennen so eng ist. Man muss 100 Prozent geben. Ich habe heute solide Punkte geholt und habe mein Bestes gegeben. Ich muss weiter an mir arbeiten, meine Kondition verbessern, und auch mit dem Team und dem Motorrad haben wir noch einiges zu tun, um wieder auf das Podium zu kommen, also werden wir weiter pushen."
Seewer Seventh at Spanish Grand Prix
The 13th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Madrid, Spain, presented its challenges for the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team. Jeremy Seewer was the quickest of the trio around the rutty and choppy man-made intu Xanadu Arroyomolinos circuit. He finished seventh.
The Spanish Grand Prix got off to a sensational start for Seewer. Seewer scored himself a great place on the gate after posting the fifth-fastest time in Timed Practice.
RACE ONE: Seewer got off to a strong start in Race 1, but was pushed back to sixth place on the first lap.
The "91" rode solidly and even set the best time in the 3rd sector.
He managed to overtake his teammate Coldenhoff and move up to 4th place.
Seewer was then chased by Herlings, defending his place impressively! Unfortunately, he made a small mistake on the exit of the corner, which Herlings was able to use to his advantage and pushed Seewer to 5th place.
He was able to maintain this position until the end of the 18-lap race.
RACE TWO: The mood of the fans was also brilliant at the start of the 2nd race. Seewer got off to a good start in the final race of the weekend. Unfortunately, he was quickly pushed back to 8th place.
He managed to make up one place, which he then unfortunately lost again to Febvre. Seewer felt out of his comfort zone, but still managed to get a top 10 finish, defending his 8th position until crossing the finish line.
STANDINGS: Seewer continues to occupy 6th place in the annual championship with 373 points.
NEXT EVENT: The team now shifts its focus to the next three rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship that will take place in Pietramurata, Italy, on Sunday 24th, Wednesday 27th and Sunday 31st October.
AFTER RACE TALK: "Things are definitely improving for me. Last year I had problems here in Spain on this track. So I feel like we've improved a lot in terms of my handling and my feel for the track. Still, I had hoped for more because I felt good and had good speed and a good time in qualifying. I still need to work a bit on the first two corners, because I have good starts, but it seems that I'm just in the wrong place at the wrong time, because when I enter the first corner in second place, I somehow end up in sixth place in the chaos before the second corner. After that, things pick up quickly, but if you're not in top form like me, it's really hard to get back to the front because the race is so tight. You have to give 100 percent. I scored solid points today. I gave my best. I have to keep working on myself, improve my condition, and also with the team and the bike we have some work to do to get back on the podium, so we'll keep pushing."
