Top 5-Platzierung, ein guter Saisonstart für Jeremy Seewer. Bei einer herausfordernden Eröffnungsrunde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft 2021 erzielte Jeremy Seewer, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Pilot solide Punkte.

Er rundete die Top 5 in Orlyonok, Russland mit einer 6-5 Platzierung ab. Alle 19 Läufe der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft werden 2021 aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie in einem eintägigen Format ausgetragen. Dies bedeutet, dass es in dieser Saison keine Qualifikationsrennen geben wird. Stattdessen erhalten die Piloten eine 45-minütige Trainingseinheit, in der sie alle erforderlichen Setups an ihren Bikes vornehmen können. Zudem müssen die Piloten in derselben Trainingseinheit eine schnelle Runde fahren, welche für die Wahl des Startgatters entscheidend ist. Seewer wurde als bestplatzierter Yamaha-Fahrer Sechster.

ERSTES RENNEN: Im Eröffnungsrennen des Jahres 2021 schoss Seewer für einen Top-10-Start aus dem Gatter. Seewer versuchte trotz 30°C einen kühlen Kopf zu bewahren, blieb gelassen, ruhig und versuchte Energie zu sparen. Gute Starts sind in der MXGP sind von entscheidender Bedeutung, insbesondere auf schnelllebigen Strecken wie dieser in Orlyonok, wo alle Fahrer zeitlich eng beieinander liegen. Seewer musste sich mit Platz sechs zufriedengeben, als er die Zielflagge passierte.

ZWEITES RENNEN:

Das zweite und letzte Rennen des Tages war sehr Energieraubend für den Monster Energy Yamaha Factory-Fahrer. Seewer schaffte es, die erste Runde innerhalb der Top-5 zu absolvieren. Der extrem trockene und rutschige Boden in Orlyonok hat heute viele der Besten MXGP Piloten zu Fall gebracht. Leider war auch Seewer betroffen, der am Zielsprung plötzlich die Bodenhaftung verlor und spektakulär stürzte. Die '91' kämpfte wie ein Löwe, er erholte sich von seinem Sturz und sicherte sich den fünften Platz.

Platzierung: Jeremy belegt mit 31. Punkten den 5. Gesamtrang.

NÄCHSTER EVENT:

Nach einer anstrengenden Eröffnungsrunde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft 2021, blickt das Team und Seewer optimistisch auf die nächste Runde der Serie entgegen. Diese wird am 27. Juni in Matterley Basin in Winchester, England, stattfinden.

AFTER RACE TALK:

"Wenn man bedenkt, wie beide Läufe heute für mich gelaufen sind, ist das Ergebnis nicht schlecht. Ich habe einige gute Punkte geholt. Die Strecke war anspruchsvoll, die Geschwindigkeiten waren hoch. Ich bin froh, dass diese Läufe beendet sind. Das Wichtigste am Ende des Tages ist, dass ich mich nicht verletzt habe. Die Strecke fühlte sich an wie Eis. Top 5 war hier das Ziel und ich denke, das habe ich erreicht. Es ist ein guter Anfang und gut einige Punkte in der Tasche zu haben. Ich bin immer noch nicht zu 100% da wo ich sein will, ich erhole mich von einem Problem, das ich schon vor dem Start der Saison hatte. Ich fühle mich gut mit dem Team und dem Motorrad.“

Top-5 Start to Season 2021 for Jeremy Seewer

A challenging opening round of the 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship saw Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP’s Jeremy Seewer post solid points. He rounded out the top five in Orlyonok, Russia, with a 6-5 scorecard.

All 19 rounds of the FIM Motocross World Championship will operate on a one-day format in 2021 due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This means that there will be no Qualifying Races this season. Instead, the riders are given one 45-minute practice session in which they need to make any required changes to the set-up of their YZ450FMs. Each rider needs to put in a fast lap in that same practice session, which will determine gate-pick. In Timed Practice this morning, the lap times were close. Seewer finished as the best-placed Yamaha rider in sixth.

RACE ONE: In the opening race of 2021, Seewer rocketed out of the gate for a top-10 start. Seewer stayed cool, calm and collected as he tried to conserve energy in the stuffy 30-degree heat. Good starts are vital in MXGP, particularly at fast-paced venues where all of the riders are relative in speed. Seewer was content with sixth at the checkered flag.

RACE TWO: The second and final race of the day was a battle of attrition for the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP riders. Seewer managed to complete the first lap inside the top-five. The extremely dry and slippery clay in Orlyonok caught out many of MXGP’s finest today. One of its victims was Seewer, who suddenly lost traction on the face of the finish-line jump and crashed spectacularly. Reaffirming his status as one of the main protagonists this season, the '91' bounced back from his fall to finish fifth.

STANDINGS:

5th Place in the MXGP-Classification with 31 Points.

NEXT EVENT: Although the goal for the opening round of the 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship was higher, the team and all three riders remain optimistic for the next round of the series that will take place at Matterley Basin, in Winchester, England, on June 27th. AFTER RACE TALK: “Considering how both motos went for me today, the result is not too bad. I managed some good points. The track was sketchy; the speed is high. I am happy this one is done. I am in one piece. It felt like ice out there. Top five was the goal here and I think I achieved that. It’s a good place to start and good to have some points in the pocket. I am still not 100%, I am recovering from a problem I had before the season, but I feel good with the team and the bike. My time will come soon.”
