RACE REPORT - MXGP of Portugal, Agueda
Jeremy Seewer sicherte sich bei der fünften Runde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft in Agueda, Portugal, wertvolle Punkte und stand zum Ende des Tages auf dem fünften Gesamtrang.
Jeremy zeigte bereits am Samstag ein starkes Quali-Rennen. Dadurch konnte er, für das Erste Rennen am Sonntag als Vierter einen optimalen Startplatz aussuchen.
ERSTES RENNEN: Die Nr.91 zeigte einen starken Start in das erste Rennen des Tages. Er befand sich gleich auf der fünften Position. Zu Beginn der siebten Runde lieferte er sich dann mit Team Kollege Coldenhoff ein starkes Kopf an Kopf Rennen. Für eine Runde konnte er sich einen Platz nach vorne kämpfen. Musste diesen jedoch wieder an seinen Teamkollegen abgeben. Jeremy zeigte ein souveränes Rennen und überquerte die Ziellinie auf dem 5.Rang.
ZWEITES RENNEN: Mit neuer Entschlossenheit zeigte Seewer im zweiten Rennen, einen grandiosen Start und holte sich mit seiner YZ450FM den Holeshot. Er kämpfte um einen Platz innerhalb der Top 3. Den dritten Platz konnte er bis zur Hälfte des Rennens verteidigen. In Runde acht musste er dann einen Platz an Romain Febvre abgeben. Auf der 4.Position passierte Jeremy die Schwarz-Weisse-karierte Ziel- Fahne.
PLATZIERUNG: Seewer geht auf der achten Gesamt-Position in den Grand Prix von Spanien.
NÄCHSTER EVENT: Nun richtet das Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team seinen Blick auf die nächste Runde der FIM Motocross Weltmeisterschaft, die in vier Tagen in Madrid, Spanien, nur 500 Kilometer östlich von Agueda, stattfinden wird.
AFTER RACE TALK: «Das heutige Ergebnis ist nicht überragend. Es ist weder ein Podium noch ein Sieg, aber trotz all der Schwierigkeiten in dieser Saison habe ich das Gefühl, dass wir einen großen Schritt gemacht haben. Ich muss mich auf die positiven Dinge konzentrieren. Ich bin wieder am Start, und ich bin körperlich stark und bereit. Ich muss nur daran arbeiten, das Tempo in den ersten Runden zu erhöhen, denn nach all den Stürzen in den ersten Runden bei den letzten GPs habe ich viel Vertrauen verloren. Insgesamt ist das ein Schritt in die richtige Richtung. Wir wollen mehr, aber ich weiß, dass das Zeit braucht und ich denke, dass ich bald einen weiteren Schritt machen werde, und wir werden wieder im Kampf um den Sieg dabei sein.»
Jeremy Seewer secured valuable points at the fifth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Agueda, Portugal, and was fifth overall at the end of the day.
Jeremy already showed a strong qualifying race on Saturday. This allowed him to choose the optimal starting position for the first race on Sunday as fourth.
RACE ONE: The No.91 showed a strong start in the first race of the day. He was immediately in fifth position. At the beginning of the seventh lap, he had a strong head-to-head race with team colleague Coldenhoff. For one lap he was able to move up one place. However, he had to give it back to his team mate. Jeremy showed a confident race and crossed the finish line in 5th place.
RACE TWO: With renewed determination, Seewer showed in the second race, a terrific start and took the holeshot with his YZ450FM. He fought for a place within the top 3 and was able to defend third place until halfway through the race. Then in lap eight he had to give up one place to Romain Febvre. In 4th position Jeremy passed the black and white finish flag.
STANDINGS: Seewer goes into the Spanish Grand Prix in eighth position overall.
NEXT EVENT: Now the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team turns its sights to the next round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, which will take place in four days in Madrid, Spain, just 500 kilometers east of Agueda.
AFTER RACE TALK: “Today's result is not outstanding. It's neither a podium nor a win, but despite all the difficulties this season, I feel we've made a big step. I have to focus on the positive things. I'm back on the grid, and I'm physically strong and ready. I just need to work on increasing the pace in the first laps, because after all the crashes in the first laps at the last GPs I lost a lot of confidence. Overall, this is a step in the right direction. We want more, but I know it takes time and I think I'll make another step soon and we'll be back in the fight for the win."
