Race Report - MXGP of Italy, Mantova, Round I
Seewer kämpft sich beim MXGP der Lombardei auf den fünften Platz.
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP-Pilot Jeremy Seewer kämpfte bei der 17. und vorletzten Runde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft in Mantova, Italien, hart um eine top 5 Platzierung. Er wurde Fünfter der Gesamtwertung.
ERSTES RENNEN:
Zu Beginn des Rennens holte sich Seewer seinen fünften Fox-Holeshot des Jahres 2021, bevor er vom aktuellen Meisterschaftsführenden Romain Febvre und MXGP-Titelverteidiger Jeffrey Herlings auf den dritten Platz zurückgedrängt wurde. Doch trotz eines unglaublichen Starts beendete der Schweizer die erste Runde als 15. nach einem unvermeidlichen Sturz, der durch Herlings vor ihm verursacht wurde. Nachdem er seine YZ450FM aus der Verwicklung mit Jeffrey freikämpfte, stürmte er noch bis auf die fünfte Position vor.
ZWEITES RENNEN:
Im zweiten Rennen zeigte Seewer eine seiner besten Fahrten der Saison, als er von außerhalb der Punkteränge durch das Feld stürmte und einen starken fünften Platz belegte.
PLATZIERUNG: In der Tageswertung sicherte sich Seewer Platz 5.
In der Gesamtwertung belegt er den 6.Platz, mit nur 2 Punkten Rückstand auf Jorge Prado, der sich auf Platz 5 befindet.
NÄCHSTER EVENT:
Das Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP Team kehrt am Mittwoch, den 10. November nach Mantova zurück, um die 18. und letzte Runde der FIM Motocross Weltmeisterschaft 2021 zu bestreiten.
AFTER RACE TALK:
"Was die Ergebnisse angeht, war das nicht der Tag, den ich erwartet oder gewünscht hatte, aber was die Geschwindigkeit und das Vertrauen in mein Bike angeht, war es wirklich gut. Mantova ist eine schwierige Strecke. Es ist definitiv nicht meine Lieblingsstrecke, aber trotzdem hatte ich den Speed für das Podium. Heute hat es nicht Ganz geklappt. Im ersten Rennen konnte ich den Holeshot holen, leider hatte ich keine Chance auszuweichen, als Jeffrey Herlings vor mir stürzte. Dieser Zwischenfall hat mein Rennen auf den Kopf gestellt. Ich musste mich durch das Feld kämpfen. Im zweiten Lauf habe ich meinen Start komplett verpatzt. Ich wurde in der ersten Kurve eingeklemmt in der Meute, dennoch konnte mich dann wieder an die Spitze kämpfen. Was meine Fahrweise angeht, war es eine meiner besten Fahrten in diesem Jahr, vor allem auf dieser Art von Strecke. Ich bin sehr zufrieden damit. Nur das Ergebnis auf dem Papier spiegelt nicht meinen Speed wider, aber jetzt arbeiten wir daran, beim Finale am Mittwoch wieder ganz vorne mitzufahren!"
Seewer Fights to fifth at MXGP of Lombardia
Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP rider Jeremy Seewer fought hard to finish in the top five at the 17th and penultimate round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Mantova, Italy. He finished fifth overall.
RACE ONE: At the start of the race, Seewer claimed his fifth Fox holeshot of 2021 before being pushed back to third by current championship leader Romain Febvre and defending MXGP champion Jeffrey Herlings. But despite an incredible start, the Swiss rider finished the first lap in 15th place after an inevitable crash caused by Herlings in front of him.
After getting his YZ450FM free from the entanglement with Jeffrey, he stormed up to fifth position.
RACE TWO:
In the second race, Seewer put in one of his best rides of the season as he stormed through the field from outside of the points to finish strong in fifth position.
STANDINGS: In the daily standings Seewer secured 5th place.
In the overall standings he occupies 6th place, just 2 points behind Jorge Prado, who is in 5th place.
NEXT EVENT: The Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team will return to Mantova for the 18th and final round of the 2021 FIM Motocross World Championship on Wednesday, 10th November
AFTER RACE TALK: "In terms of results, it wasn't the day I expected or wanted, but in terms of speed and confidence in my bike, it was really good. Manova is a difficult track. It's definitely not my favorite track, but still I have the speed for the podium. Today I didn't make it to the podium,but looking at the positives, I got the holeshot in the first race, when Jeffrey Herlings crashed I had no chance to avoid and hit him directly, this incident turned my race upside down. I had to fight my way through the field. In the second race I completely messed up my start. I got stuck in the pack in the first corner and then I was able to fight my way back to the front. In terms of my driving, it was one of my best rides this year, especially on this kind of track. I'm very happy with it. Only the result on paper doesn't reflect my speed, but now we're working to get back to the front in Wednesday's final."
