RACE REPORT - MXGP of Finnland, Vantaa
Jeremy Seewer Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Pilot wurde bei der 14. Runde der FIM Motocross-Weltmeisterschaft in Vantaa, Finnland, 4. im Tagesklassement.
Der Schweizer stand Punktgleich mit seinem Teamkollege Coldenhoff, wurde jedoch durch das schlechtere Resultat im 2.Rennen als Gesamtvierter gewertet.
ERSTES RENNEN: Im ersten Rennen gelang Seewer erneut ein grandioser Holeshot und er übernahm direkt die Führung. Nach einem kleinen Fehler in der zweiten Runde, musste er die Führung an Febvre abgeben. Danach fuhr Jeremy auf der engen und kompakten Strecke von Vantaa ein gleichmäßiges Tempo, was ihm am Schluss den zweiten Platz brachte.
ZWEITES RENNEN: Zum Auftakt des zweiten Rennen des Tages, kam Seewer nicht so gut aus dem Gatter. Die "91" musste sich von 7. Platz nach vorne kämpfen. Es gelang ihm zwei Plätze gut zu machen und er überquerte die Ziellinie auf der fünften Position.
PLATZIERUNG:.
Nach einem hart umkämpften Grand Prix von Finnland bleibt Seewer Dritter in der Meisterschaftswertung.
NÄCHSTER EVENT:
Jeremy und das Team freuen sich nun auf ein wohlverdientes freies Wochenende, bevor es zur 15.Runde nach Uddevalla, Schweden geht.
AFTER RACE TALK: “Ich hatte alles, um heute um den Sieg zu kämpfen, deshalb ist das Resultat etwas frustrierend. Ich hatte ein wenig mit der Motorradabstimmung zu kämpfen, aber ich habe es geschafft, mich im Laufe des Rennens anzupassen, jedoch hat dies Zeit gekostet. Erst gegen Ende des Rennens habe ich mich dann auf dem Bike wohl gefühlt. Es ist frustrierend, denn ich bin fit und schnell, aber die Ergebnisse sind nicht so, wie ich sie haben möchte. Jetzt haben wir eine kleine Pause, um uns vor Schweden neu zu formieren.”
Jeremy Seewer Monster Energy Yamaha Factory rider finished 4th overall for the day at the 14th round of the FIM Motocross World Championship in Vantaa, Finland.
The Swiss was equal on points with his teammate Coldenhoff, but due to the worse result in the 2nd race was classified as fourth overall.
RACE ONE: In the first race, Seewer managed another terrific holeshot and took the lead straight away.
After a small mistake in the second lap, he had to give up the lead to Febvre.
After that, Jeremy rode a steady pace on the tight and compact track of Vantaa, which brought him to second place.
RACE TWO: Opening the second race of the day, Seewer didn't come out of the gate as well. The "91" had to fight his way forward from 7th place. He managed to make up two places and crossed the finish line in fifth position.
STANDINGS:
Seewer remains third in the championship standings after a hard-fought Finnish Grand Prix.
NEXT EVENT: Jeremy and the team are now looking forward to a well deserved weekend off before heading to Uddevalla, Sweden for round 15.
AFTER RACE TALK: “I had everything to fight for the win today, so the result is a bit frustrating. I struggled a bit with the bike set-up, but I managed to adapt during the race, however it cost time. It was only towards the end of the race that I felt comfortable on the bike. It's frustrating because I'm fit and fast, but the results are not what I want. Now we have a little break to regroup before Sweden.”
